G2’s path to the IEM Dallas trophy was anything but straightforward.
They faced and defeated some of the top contenders, including FaZe Clan and Team Vitality, showcasing remarkable resilience and skill.
Under the leadership of Nikola “NiKo” Kova?, the team also overcame the dark horse of the event, 9z Team, in the playoffs.
The grand final against Vitality was a gripping three-map series that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
The action kicked off on G2’s pick, Inferno.
Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov set the tone with a 4K in the pistol round, leading G2 to a 7-5 advantage by the end of the first half.
Despite a strong start from Vitality in the second half, including a 1v1 clutch by m0NESY against Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, the map went into overtime.
G2 eventually triumphed 19-16, thanks to brilliant plays from NiKo, m0NESY, and Nemanja “huNter-” Kova?.
The second map, Anubis, saw a similar back-and-forth struggle.
G2 initially gained the upper hand, but Vitality’s William “mezii” Merriman delivered a highlight ace, shifting the momentum.
Vitality secured a 16-13 victory, forcing a decider map.

However, a crucial 1v1 by m0NESY against ZywOo tied the score at halftime.
In the second half, G2 maintained their composure and closed out the map 13-8, securing the championship.

Despite a brief resurgence towards the end of the first half, thanks to Rasmus “?sjuush?” Beck’s impressive performance, Vitality maintained their lead.
After the side switch, Vitality extended their advantage with a dominant pistol round, and although Heroic attempted a comeback, apEX��s consistent form ensured Vitality’s victory.
Heroic��s situation worsened on Dust2.
After an initially promising second round, won by a trio of frags from sjuush, HEROIC managed only one more round in the half as Vitality��s offense proved unstoppable.
Vitality��s dominance continued in the second half, quickly wrapping up the game with a fast B retake and two additional rounds.
This win sets up an eagerly anticipated semi-final clash against Spirit, where Mathieu “?ZywOo?” Herbaut and Danil “?donk?” Kryshkovets will face off for the first time in an official match.

G2 Esports also advanced to the IEM Dallas semi-finals with a decisive 2-0 (13-8, 13-2) win over FaZe Clan, maintaining their impressive run despite fielding Jacky “?Stewie2K?” Yip as a stand-in.
FaZe, typically formidable in major tournaments, faltered on the Terrorist sides of Dust2 and Nuke.
On Dust2, FaZe initially held a 7-5 lead after a chaotic CT side, but their T side performance collapsed.
Nemanja “?nexa?” Isakovi? and Ilya “?m0NESY?” Osipov capitalized on FaZe��s mistakes, leading G2 to an 8-1 run on the CT side to claim the first map.

Spirit’s dominance was evident from the start, as they crushed FlyQuest 13-1 in their opener before dispatching NaV in under two hours.

Intel Extreme Masters: Dallas 2024
16 of the world’s best Counter-Strike 2 teams will congregate in Dallas, USA, from May 27 to June 2, with eight of the squads ranked inside the worlds top 10.

Now facing a weaker version of G2, Team Falcons have a realistic chance to cause an upset — especially in a best-of-one setting.

The second match of Group A at IEM Dallas 2024 is a regional derby between Complexity and Team Liquid. The North American teams last met during the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 American RMR in March when Complexity won 2-1, and according to esports betting odds, we should be in for another close game.
Team Liquid have shown significant improvement since March and secured a spot in the knockout stage of ESL Pro League Season 19 earlier this month. Complexity reached even deeper and nearly secured a ticket for the grand final, with a 1-2 loss to the eventual champions, MOUZ, in the semis.
Both teams are on an upwards trajectory, and it’s hard to set them apart. Complexity have shown more and deserve to be priced as favourites with esports betting sites, but this being a clash between two regional rivals, we can expect another close affair.

After winning PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, Natus Vincere battled to a 9th-12th finish at ESL Pro League Season 19. This isn’t too worrying, as their only loss of the tournament came against FaZe Clan, but there are arguments to be made against NaVi’s price for this match.
Ranked as the no.25 Counter-Strike esports team in the world, BIG are hardly serious contenders to win Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024. They didn’t accomplish much at ESL Pro League Season 19, and they didn’t impress at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 in March either.
Over the last three months, we have not seen BIG defeat a single elite CS team, and even when faced with weaker opponents, they’ve occasionally underdelivered. So even though Natus Vincere are notorious for slow starts to tournaments, they should do enough to beat BIG with a few rounds to spare.

Virtus.pro enter IEM Dallas 2024 following a solid performance at ESL Pro League Season 19, where they placed top eight. Even though VP are still far from where they want to be, they’ve started showing better performances since the signing of Denis “electroNic” Sharipov.
After their trip to Malta, Virtus.pro crashed out of BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 in fifth-sixth place, suggesting they’ll need a bit more time to gain serious traction.
HEROIC, like Virtus.pro, have a lot to prove. They exited ESL Pro League Season 19 in 21st-28th place and then ran third-fourth at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 with just two victories against MiBR.
Virtus.pro placed much higher than HEROIC at ESL Pro League Season 19, but that’s the only reason why anyone would consider them as favourites for this match. The two sides are evenly matched, and since it’s a best-of-one game, HEROIC to win at outsider odds is a much more appealing bet.

After claiming top spot in Group B, the world no.11 advanced straight into the semifinals, awaiting the winner of the titanic clash between G2 Esports and FaZe Clan.
FaZe got the win and set up a rematch of their Group A upper-bracket semifinal with ENCE from earlier on in the tournament.
MOUZ, meanwhile, had to qualify through the lower bracket of Group A and take on Astralis in the quarterfinals before setting up a semifinal matchup with Heroic.
With Heroic (2) and FaZe (3) both ranked among the top three teams in the world, ENCE and MOUZ went into their respective semifinals as clear underdogs with most esports betting sites.
However, MOUZ took the opening map against Heroic, before the favourites claimed the second to send the series to a third map, where it took all 30 rounds to find the winner.
Christopher ��dexter�� Nong and his team took the final map 16-14 to send Heroic packing and take MOUZ to their first CS:GO tier-one grand final of the year.
As for ENCE, their clash with FaZe Clan turned into the best series we saw at IEM Dallas, with both teams trading blows and map wins before going to overtime on the third and final map.
Both sides had chances to win the series in overtime, but it was Marco ��Snappi�� Pfeiffer and his team who claimed the series with a 31-28 map win on Ancient.
Those results set up a tantalising decider between two teams that few observers would have expected to contend for the title.
Unfortunately for neutral Counter-Strike fans, ENCE dominated both maps in the final to claim an easy 2-0 victory, with their rising star Alvaro ��SunPayus�� Garcia taking out the Most Valuable Player award.
The AWPer finished the grand final with server highs in kill/death difference (+16), ADR (97.7) and rating (1.45) as ENCE clinched their first tier-one CS:GO title since 2019.
